Phil Shearon

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Meet Phil Shearon, the visionary behind Shearon Design Collective. Rooted in a lifelong connection to construction sites and the multi-generational legacy of his family's homebuilding company, Phil's journey into landscape design was a natural evolution. As the Founder and Principal Designer, he draws inspiration from the enduring values of his family's commitment to community and generations of home design. Phil's passion lies in crafting remarkable landscapes that embody the harmonious interplay between people and nature, forging connections that transcend time.

With over two decades of experience, Phil's designs are more than just outdoor spaces; they are immersive journeys that redefine outdoor living. Guided by a design philosophy that seamlessly weaves authenticity and intentionality, he believes in harnessing the inherent potential of surroundings to craft outdoor sanctuaries that stand as lasting testaments to his clients' aspirations. Phil's approach prioritizes collaboration and optimism, ensuring each project becomes a transformative experience etched in memory.
Phil's influence extends beyond the realms of design; he actively contributes to the Landscape Design community through online publications and forums, sparking conversations about the evolution of outdoor spaces. Dian Williams-Banegas

CLIENT EXPERIENCE MANAGER

Dian, our Client Experience Manager, has a passion for people and commitment to client satisfaction which make him an integral member of the Shearon Design Collective team. With a love for contemporary and modern design, Dian is dedicated to guiding our clients through every step of the process, ensuring their vision comes to life with clarity and care. Known for his warm and approachable nature, Dian values genuine connections, bringing a sense of trust and partnership to each project. Originally from New Jersey, Dian met his wife Eden at college here in Arizona. After graduating, they moved back to the East Coast for a few years… however, Arizona’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant outdoor lifestyle beckoned them and their baby son, Zion, to come back to the place they felt most at home. In his free time, you’ll find him hiking Arizona’s scenic trails or cheering on his favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints. With a deep curiosity for history and a love of learning, Dian approaches each project with fresh perspective and enthusiasm.

Austin Roberts

DESIGN CONCIERGE MANAGER

Austin, our Design Concierge Manager, brings a creative, detail-oriented approach to high-end residential landscape design and project coordination. With experience leading projects from initial design confirmation through final installation, he serves as a trusted point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and specialty trades. His strength lies in coordinating the many moving pieces of a project while keeping the original design intent clear, organized, and thoughtfully executed.
A graduate of Iowa State University with a background in Landscape Architecture and Sustainability, Austin brings a strong design foundation rooted in both creativity and environmental awareness. Drawn to Arizona for its landscape design opportunities and the incredible outdoor lifestyle the state offers, he has developed a deep appreciation for the way architecture, desert planting, materiality, and outdoor living can come together to create meaningful residential spaces.
Outside of work, Austin enjoys staying active through weightlifting, hiking, and a lifelong love of sports. He’s especially passionate about college basketball and is always up for an incredible food experience, whether close to home or while traveling. Much of his inspiration also comes from time spent with his future wife, an interior designer, where conversations about design often continue well beyond the workday. Grounded by family, travel, and a genuine enjoyment for the world around him, Austin brings focus, creativity, and care to every project he helps lead.

Shane Turner

LEAD DESIGNER

Meet Shane, our accomplished Lead Landscape Designer, dedicated to the art of crafting enduring spaces. His passion lies in creating environments that not only captivate with their visual appeal but also radiate warmth, sophistication, and elegance. Shane's design philosophy, "Man with Nature," skillfully integrates natural elements with man-made structures, striking a perfect balance that enhances the connection to nature while harmonizing with man-made elements.
Shane was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and has cultivated an understanding and appreciation for the “beautiful struggle” that desert living so displays. The fact that some of the most stunning desert plants are also the most thorny, or how even in the desert we can have green and lush landscapes that remain environmentally conscious.
Shane grew up as a competitive swimmer and his infinity for pools was birthed at a young age. Water shapes can play a large role in the formation of an amazing outdoor space. Not only pools but any water feature can transform a space to a tranquil retreat from a hectic world. Shane also loves cooking and along with his wife, who is an events planner, love hosting and entertaining. The outdoor space in Phoenix has the potential to be the perfect backdrop for a wonderful evening with friends and family. Spaces that allow for people to gather and be comfortable year-round is a critical part of the perfect outdoor space.

Devin Joyner

PROJECT DESIGNER

Devin, our Project Designer, brings a well-rounded blend of design creativity, construction knowledge, and field experience to the Shearon Design Collective team. With eight years in the pool and landscape industry, his background spans drafting, permitting, design, and project supervision—giving him a practical understanding of how outdoor spaces come together from concept to construction. He has spent six years focused on design, along with two years as a project superintendent while continuing to design on the side, allowing him to approach each project with both creative vision and real-world buildability in mind.
With a degree in Construction Management, Devin has a strong foundation in planning, coordination, and execution. His design style is especially drawn to lush planting, creative outdoor spaces, and unique features that give each project its own sense of character. Whether he’s thinking through plant palettes, spatial flow, or how a special detail will come to life in the field, Devin brings a thoughtful eye and grounded perspective to every design.
An Arizona native, Devin has a natural appreciation for the desert, the outdoors, and the many ways people experience life outside. Away from the studio, he’s an animal lover and proud owner of an Australian Shepherd, with a lifelong love for pets that has included everything from dogs to reptiles. A sports enthusiast, Devin played football, baseball, and wrestled growing up, and still enjoys football, MMA, Muay Thai kickboxing, and weightlifting. Whether he’s at the beach, in the dunes, or hiking through the mountains, Devin’s love for the outdoors continues to shape the way he thinks about creating memorable spaces for others to enjoy.

Ethan Montgomery

DESIGN STUDIO COORDINATOR

Ethan, our Project Coordinator, is the steady force that keeps projects organized, moving, and clearly communicated from start to finish. Working closely with our entire team, he supports everything from scheduling and file management to plan preparation and meeting logistics. Whether he’s coordinating with clients and contractors or making sure the right drawings are ready at the right time, Ethan helps turn ideas into a clear, well-managed process.
Originally from Minneapolis, Ethan brings a grounded, Midwestern work ethic to our team. His attention to detail and calm, solutions-oriented mindset make him a natural fit for a role that lives at the intersection of people, timelines, and information. Behind the scenes, he’s often the one connecting the dots so our designers can stay focused on creating exceptional outdoor spaces.
Outside of work, Ethan is a devoted husband and father to twins. He’s an avid sports fan and stays active in his community by volunteering with his local church. That same heart for service and teamwork carries into his work at Shearon Design Collective—ensuring every project is supported with care, clarity, and a genuine commitment to helping clients feel taken care of at every step.

ALDWIN CRUZ

PROJECT DESIGNER // DESIGN DRAFTING TECHNICIAN

Aldwin, our Project Designer // Draftsman, is the bridge between big-picture vision and precise, build-ready plans. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, a foundation that informs the way he thinks through structure, proportion, and detail in every drawing. With years of experience producing technical plans, he excels at turning creative concepts into clear, constructible documents. From pools and patios to walls, structures, and planting layouts, Aldwin’s plans are known for their clean lines, thoughtful organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
Originally trained and practicing as an architect in Manila, Philippines, Aldwin has worked on everything from residential projects to mid- and high-rise buildings, as well as luxury residential communities. That experience sharpened his eye for quality and his commitment to getting the details right the first time—whether he’s coordinating with other trades, refining grading and hardscape layouts, or tightening drawings for HOA and city approvals. His ability to translate design ideas into accurate, contractor-friendly plans makes him an invaluable part of our project team.
Outside of work, Aldwin is a devoted husband and father to their daughter. He’s an excellent cook, loves both watching and playing basketball, and enjoys traveling and spending time with his extended family. That same sense of hospitality, teamwork, and care shows up in his work—grounding every project in precision, warmth, and a genuine desire to create spaces families can enjoy for years to come.

Francisco Carranza

PROJECT DESIGNER // DESIGN DRAFTING TECHNICIAN

Francisco, a professional Architect and trained Landscape Designer from Mexico, brings a thoughtful blend of structure, creativity, and visual storytelling to the Shearon Design Collective team. With a passion for residential and outdoor spaces, he enjoys transforming early ideas into clear, compelling designs through CAD, 3D modeling, and rendering. His work bridges technical precision with visual clarity, helping clients better understand the possibilities of their outdoor environments before they come to life.
His architectural background gives him a strong eye for proportion, layout, and how outdoor spaces relate to the home. Whether he’s developing a plan, building a 3D model, or refining the details of a rendering, Francisco approaches each project with curiosity, care, and a desire to make the design feel both beautiful and understandable.
Outside of work, Francisco enjoys watching movies and series—with favorites including The Office, Game of Thrones, The White Lotus, and Beef. He also loves playing volleyball and ping pong, spending time with his family and his dog, and enjoying music whenever he can. That balance of creativity, energy, and connection carries into his work, bringing a fresh perspective and steady enthusiasm to every project.

Project Discovery & Design Vision

During our initial meeting, we work closely with you to identify the elements that hold the most significance as we shape your dream landscape. Together, we’ll explore the unique qualities of your site and the goals you have for your outdoor space. We’ll review any inspirational references you’ve collected, along with relevant architectural or civil plans, to craft an ideal aesthetic and a clear design vision. This phase also includes capturing site photos and taking essential measurements to guide the design process ahead.
Design Concept Creation & Collaboration

Our landscape planning and design approach enables clients to step into their envisioned outdoor spaces before they are built. This immersive experience lets clients explore their designs from every angle, walk through their gardens, swim in their pool, and experience the ambiance of their outdoor spaces. This empowers our clients to make informed design decisions, fine-tune their vision, and ensure alignment between the design and their aspirations.
Design Development & Contractor Selection

In this pivotal phase, our design concepts evolve into detailed plans and specifications through refinement, client collaboration, and technical considerations. It involves creating detailed drawings, addressing technical aspects, estimating costs, and coordinating with professionals to translate the design vision into reality.
Plan Documentation

To ensure your builder has everything they need to successfully bring your vision to life, we prepare detailed documentation and guidance such as blueprints, technical specifications, dimensioned plans, planting plans, lighting plans, and more!
Permits & Construction

As your dream outdoor living space comes to life, we provide Concierge service, working closely with your builder through the process of obtaining necessary permits and overseeing the design execution, ensuring that construction aligns with vision.
